Received a call this morning from a female asking if it was my name speaking when asked How can I help, she refused to state her name or the purpose for the call and hung up. When I called the number back an automated answering system answered which did not state a name of a company and requested that you key in an extension number of the person you wish to speak to without providing a list of persons with extensions or press 0 for an operator. This is suspicious.

Got a call from Cedric at this number.  After answering the profile questions, said I was a good candidate for a 5 year no-bid GSA contract.  He said I could make millions with this additional revenue stream.

Great thread.  I work with GSA Preview.  We provide GSA Contract processing for firms that are seeking their own 5 year Multiple Award Schedule contracts from the GSA (General Services Administration).

Admittedly, our marketing approach (direct phone calls to business owners) leaves us wide open to these types of threads.  We accept it as part of doing business.  When a skeptical business owner gets a call telling them about no bid government contracts and they don't do the research to see what it's about, this is the result.  And it's understandable.  I am not hear to deny that you have been bothered, upset, wronged or offended by our marketing team.

However, the GSA spends over $400 billion per year.  $30 billion of that goes through GSA contract holders who CAN AND DO get no bid government contracts for up to $1,000,000 per order.  We happen to lead the planet in GSA Contract Awards.  So far in 2009 we have gotten 76 ( http://www.gsapreview.com/gsaaward.html )new firms approved at the governments highest level of procurement. Many of those firms will do in the millions with the government in their first year.  Some will take longer.  Some may never make a dime in spite of their efforts.  If that happens, they get 95% of their money back.  Guaranteed.  In writing.  The AVERAGE GSA contract holder earns $2.7 million off of their single MAS contract.  You don't have to like that but all the complaining in the world won't change it.  And you don't have to believe me.  Do your own research.  

Rest assured that, while you may not like our marketing model, we are a reputable firm with a long track record of success.  The threads you see peppered around the web about GSA Preview focus NOT on our results but on how we get our customers.  Oh well.

The business world is driven by aggressive firms that find creative ways to market their services to their target market.  Your firm may use print, word of mouth, web ads, radio, direct mail or any number of other forms of marketing.  A small part of our model happens to be cold calling small businesses. If you are one of those firms that hates getting those calls, please accept my sincere apology that we have bothered you.

I personally know many of the names mentioned here and I assure you that they are, for the most part, God fearing people with families who are doing their best to earn a living as telemarketing reps for our firm.

Add Susan Harris, Ext. 3002, to the GSA Preview call list. I went to the GSA website (http://www.gsaelibrary.gsa.gov) to read up on 5-year no-bid contracts and to no surprise find you can do it yourself at no charge. You can read the contracts of others in your GSA Category, which is not really exciting. I already registered my business with the Federal CCR and the State of California, where it is domiciled. I am awaiting certification with the State as a Small Business Enterprise and Disabled Veteran Ownerd Small Business. So, thanks for the call, Susan. More stuff to file makes my day even shorter.

They left a message and asked if I am interested in 5 year no-bid gov contract. Wanted to check what it is before responding. It seems that it is exactly the kind of business that I thought it would be. Not worth to spend a second.
