I know it's easily obtainable but when he texted me he knew my first and last name and said he had my Facebook profile up. He threatened to message my parents (he knew their names) and tell then about the ordeal. Is that common?

Scam! Met a girl online, she was "18". she wanted to text because her data was low. She messages you, says she wants an older guy. Right off the bat she sends several pictures 1 clothes, one in underwear, and then one of her laying on a bed with a red blanket. She begs you to send pictures in return and the second you do she stops messaging. About 10 minutes later you get a phone call from a guy who sounds really thug saying that you have ruined his family by sending pictures and asking her to send pictures back. He wants around $2,400 for counseling or he goes to the police
You're describing a very well worn Scam. There's an 803 thread here with literally hundreds of posts describing the same routine. When the "Thug" calls again tell him to take his "daughter" right on down to the PD &...turn their scamming, worthless, extornist selves in.
When the deviant puke regains his composure be sure to tell him that this number has made it to this site. He'll be glad to know that his future targets will be finding this site so soon. You did the right thing by posting here. I'm sure that other potential victims of this extortionist will be reporting in here soon.
Be Safe. Be Aware.

Not likely. Slightly possible, but not likely. If you called that number back & got an answer it's most probable the dirtbag on the other end of the line was on a burner phone or a VOIP line. The last one of these low-life sleazes that got run down was working on the west coast. I believe that one was in LA.
