10/21 9:17 AM CST Received a call from this number stating he was a locator named James Fox, and was calling to meet me to serve papers. He refused to identify whom he was representing,and I hung up. He called right back, again refused to itentify who he was serving papers for. I told him this was a work number, and not to call it again.
He called the HR Director of my place of employment and left a message stating "This is Todd Sloan. Your employee has charges against her. We would like to talk to you to discuss your policies on how you handle such matters. " I could lose my job because of this person calling my HR director over a debt I supposedly owe.
He then called my office number wanting my address at work and home (he should know my home address if it is a legitimate claim) so he can serve me papers. He never identified where he worked and provided me with an 866-435-2973 number to call which is in INDIA when I looked it up. I have not received any written claims from him or anyone regarding his claim.

It's a scammer - legitimate, law-abiding collections agencies would have sent you dunning letters in the mail. They also do not advise you that they're going to serve you papers - only a court process server brings papers to you, and he does not call you to set up a meeting place - he just shows up, papers in hands and gives them to you.
Any caller who refuses to MAIL proof that you owe a debt and that they have the legal right to collect said debt, is owed nothing, per the FDCPA. Report the caller to the FTC, the FBI, the Dept of Justice and your state's Attorney General. Advise the caller that you're recording all calls he makes to you so your own attorney (even if you don't have one) can file a lawsuit against them for multiple violations of the FDCPA.
This perosn identified himself as James Fox, and refused to tell me who he was calling for. i hung up after he refused to five me any information. He promptly called back, and still refused to give me an information. I informed him I believed he identified himself as Darien Fox last week calling from another number trying to "serve" papers for a debt. I went ahead and made a complaint to the Comsumer Finacne Proteciton Bureau as on the previous calls the phone number he provided was to Nationwide.
This number has call my company's off many times, stating a claim number and a 877-798-5153 number to call back, when you call back it comes up Nationwide, and dial 0 for operator and then it just rings. I tried calling back about 3 times.
Today I received a call thru the customer service department, and he told them that he was returning my call once the number was transferred it showed up private (864-718-5205) on my caller id, he stated that his name was Darien Fox and he wanted to know what time was best for me so that he can come to my job to serve me papers. I told him anytime he wants I'm here and hung up
