Called wanting me to order renew my Playboy Subscription which I am not due to renew. Wouldn't give me a phone number to reach them. Said The offer was only good now then hung up after I kept asking for a number to reach them.Wanted to take a draft out of my checking account.
Called at 8:05 am asking for me by my first name. I asked why the hell they were calling so early in the morning. the female said "Uuhhhh" then hung up.
I have an even weirder one. The person who called me from this number knew my name. My mother answered the phone and she said the woman on the other end asked for me by name. When my mother replied with, "He isn't home right now, can I take a message," she said the woman repeated the sentence, mocking her, than hung up. The "name thing" has me confused.
JUST RECIEVED A CALL ABOUT MY ENQUIRER,SAID I OWED FOR 3 PAYMENTS(I'M PAID UP UNTIL DEC 31,2012.WAS REAL NASTY WHEN I STARTED GETTING UP SET,CALLED ME A LIAR,I TOLD HER THAT THIS CONVERSATION WAS OVER AND SHE HUNG UP.
Got a call saying they were an Accounts Manager for the STAR magazine and that they were verifying my subscription. I never subscribed. Said that I had electronically had sent a payment for 85 or $87.00 for a year. Had my phone #, my bank name, and the last 4 digits of my checking account. How they had this much info, I don't know. I only use checks to pay my bills.The last subscription I had bought was for Playboy like 2 years ago as a gift. When I asked to talk to her supervisor, she said she was and that she couldn't return my money to my account because I only had 15 days to terminate the subscription and it was past that. So I told her that I would have my daughter who works at my bank to check into this and that I would be notifying the BBB to let them know what was going on and to check them out. She hung up. So I checked my account to see if they had taken the money out the day they said I had made this transaction, I never did, and I did notify my bank, and I do have them on alert with my daughter for any "funny" activity reguardeing my account. Also notified the STAR magazine to let them know, and they said they do not call their subscribers and that this was a scam. It sounds to me like this is someone who has worked for subscribers to Playboy, I see I am the second one who has Playboy in common. I hope they get caught!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
