called my cell phone and told me the factory warranty on my car was about to expire, should have called me in 1971! Although I did not have a cell phone then...

same here. starts out with an automated message saying that "this is the second notice that my factory warranty is about to expire. press 1 for a rep"

i pressed 1 and got a rep. some kid with an attitude claiming he's from the "warranty help desk".. i asked for the name of the company and to get my # removed. he told me the company is called "warranty help desk"... i said "yeah, sure it is", he just said "yeeeeeahh......." and hung up.


so far, i've received about 5 of these calles within the last 3 months or so..

Automated Phone Message, car warranty scam.

hahaha... d's story about the obnoxious kid was funny. I once told a telemarketer from the San Francisco Chronicle that I was illiterate.

I just got a call to my (unlisted, never revealed) cellphone number. They must be spoofing the number b/c it looks like it's listed as a private person's number. They must also be using a phone number generator for call leads. [shaking head in disgust]
