I live in Jonesboro, Arkansas and I appreciate all of you are are reporting your experiences. The pattern of calls is not typical of a telemarketer, fundraiser, or survey company but rather of a scammer. Also, it seems the caller is targeting certain people. It would be interesting to know if any of you have been also called about special Olympics or St. Labre School for donations. I believe that someone who recently left a firm in this town, has access to a calling list. It also may have nothing to do with my suspicions. I AM NOT A POLICE OFFICE OR LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENT. I am a person who goes to work at a job and comes home just like you and I have received these calls as well. I am doing my own investigation and am collecting information. We have a very competent Sheriff in this county but the good guys, the police, often only get one chance to prosecute someone and bring alleged criminals to justice. If you also received fund raising calls, particularly regarding special olympics, St. Labre, and some others, even maybe the cancer society, this could be a piece of the puzzle. The actions of the caller are criminal, they are calling cell phones, etc, and all the things above. I got two calls back to back, and have repeatedly received such calls on a cell phone. One was a survey in which I immediately hung up. I will check back. I want to take the old Robert Ironside (raymond burr) approach, find out what really happened, who is responsible, and then the authorities are in a better position to help. The more information about the caller and particularly accurate, verifiable, information that can be gathered, the more likely they are to be able to help. I can assure you that if any of us can gather information that indicates a crime is occurring/originating from this city and we give it to the right people, the guilty party will certainly regret their error. The PD and sheriff are on the side of law abiding citizens here, but woe be to those who break the law. Take in information, do not give it out, and if you think you are smart enough try to trick them into divulging information. This will be difficult.
