Called twice, around 5 and 8 pm. First time was a missed call second time I picked up and someone with an accent asked for me, my first name and then hung up.
Caller with a heavy accent said I was approved for a grant I applied for from the government and that I had been approved. I could spend the money on anything I wanted and didn't have to pay it back. I applied for food stamps in ohio, not grant money and the call came from AR. They wanted me to use my credit card for a $3 processing fee for the money. I asked for a rep without an accent and I was on hold for 2 sec before someone claiming to be a supervisor (but sounded exactly the same). I asked for another person without an accent and was on hold for 2 sec again and got the "managing supervisor" and it sounded like someone with an accent attempting to disguise their accent. I asked again and he said I'd get a call back and hung up.
When I answered the phone the guy did have an Indian like accent and he knew my name and address and said I applied for a government grant, which I did not. He asked for my credit card # so I could pay a fee of $3.67 and that's when I hung up the phone because I knew it was a scam. After I hung up, he tried calling back 2 more times but I declined the call.
