This person contacted me on eHarmony. He said he was a Civil Engineer, and a widower with a son and had lived in Chicago on N Burling street for 5 years. He had a website set up, called DavidBerkhoffconstruction. We communicated for a few days, and He suddenly, before meeting, had to go to Istanbul for a train construction project and would be there 6-8 weeks, immediately said he had a problem because they wanted him to contribute his own capital. He needed $150,000 and raised $90,000 from friends and son. Was very convincing, telling me I was an Angel and that he loved my "cute voice". Gahhh. Ugh. Finally after one week of texting and calling and very very convincing emails, he said perhaps I could lend him the remaining $70,000! I went to Whois and realized the website was set up on July 14, and he contacted me on July 18. This is a very very clever scammer, I have seen his other numbers listed on other names of Ray Clark. There is a three year thread on his other number. See: (360) 234-2394 and (360) 234-2395. I wish I had seen this website sooner, although the red flag was up as soon as I saw the website, and couldn't trace the phone number. I am concerned because I wonder if he could download any pictures from eHarmony. Either he or eHarmony closed his account within a week after he contacted me. He has a heavy accent, could be German, but other threads say it is Ukrainian. Thank God I'm sharp enough to not send money, but other harm can be done, I'm sure. I hope this saves SOMEONE from further harm.
