These morons called at 615am local time. This seems to be a Chicago area number, so they are pretty stupid to be calling a west coast number that early.
The caller ID said NHS of Chicago which seems to be a legitimate housing organization, however none of their posted contact numbers have an 872 prefix.
My answering machine picked up, but there was no response or message left, only what sounded like a cough.
After I checked out the number, on the off chance it was a real call and they had inadvertently input the wrong area code, I called back. Got the "cannot complete this call as dialed, check that the number is correct" bit; not the usual "number not in service" or "mailbox full" that's a giveaway for a spammer.
Will block them if they call again.

These idiots called this am at 5:10 am PST, I was PO'd. The hubby answered the phone and a male voice said "Grandpa"? Really!!! The hubby said a few choice words to him & hung up. Callerid says Chicago, IL. These scum really need to channel their energy into real work vs trying to scam people!!!
This number called my 89 year old mother this morning saying that he was her grandson John and that his friend Jacob had died and he was really upset and got into a bar fight and was in jail ... At that point my mother cut him off saying he wasn't her grandson John (which coincidentally she really has) and she hung up. Needless to say my mother is upset and so am I that someone gets their jollies this way!!!!
