I've been getting a lot of "first-time" CID numbers lately, with no complaints on 800notes yet. I feel obligated to make entries to help this community. They're modifying their original numbers, maybe to get under our radar at least once more, again. But they often keep part of their original CID, which shows how rigid they are. Their suffix or prefix or area codes are often the same as before, and I remember them and know it's a spoofed scam number. And I know no one in these area codes. This time, it's the suffix that I remembered, so didn't answer. And anyone who doesn't declare the name of a business on CID is automatically a scammer. This is a spoofed number, I tested it by calling from my burner phone. I lately get mostly calls trying to scam us about mediocre braces, or solicitations for sleazy drug treatment programs, the scammers run in cycles and coordinate with whatever ads are bombarding us on TV. There have been a few exposes lately about these drug treatment solicitors, who cherry-pick rich people or people with private insurance (they're paid by these private companies to solicit and refer you only to their private list, it's big for-profit business), but very bad programs and dishonest billing, and then the rest of the population is left to be dumped into the local, overburdened system. And the brace scams sell mediocre equipment that you will end up paying for yourself, when you could just as easily buy the stuff locally. Don't answer, it's a spoofed number anyway.
