YES- I got the same call from Samuel Bishop stating that I had 3 federal violations against me. He said that agents would come into my work or residence to charge me. I knew immediately that this was scandalous and that I had never taken out pay day loans- which he said was the problem. I then asked for his supervisors name and address. He told me that I did not need this information... but then gave me the address 4900 Outland Center Road in Memphis. I looked up the address and it is warehouse space for rent. I wish someone could do something about this. He said the company is "National Center for Crime Prevention"
I had that same thing happen to me today. Gentleman by the name of John Powers contacted me at my employer alleging that I owed money for an online payday loan. The individual indictaed that my "court costs" would total about $3650 however I could settle for about $1250. He then demanded for me to put down $600 today utilizing my debit card and then went down to $300. He actually got offended when I asked for his phone number and address which was to the Memphis Chamber of Commerce. I placed him on hold and contacted the Chamber myself and they indicated that they had no such tenant in their building.
