I got a call asking to be helped. I could not understand what company was calling. I gave them my email address to send me an email with the name of their company and what they are requesting. I never got the email and when I tried to call back the number it said it is not in service.

I had the same exact thing happen - they asked for my title within my organization - knew a little bit about the my companies different brands and claimed they were from Level 3 Communications - and in procurement.
Same thing happened to me. Caller was hard to understand. Gave a name of Christine Miller with L3 Communications wanted to talk to a salesperson, but interested in a specific product my company sells called Tivoli Backup and Recovery. She was very specific to talk to someone in Phoenix, AZ, and she came in through my 800 number. She called the first time with 901-374-4880, but second time using 800 number (cell phone shows 212-918-0000. The caller gave me a call back number of 212-705-2805.
Same thing as Jeffry reported on May 2008. Thought it was one of my co-workers playing a prank on me, but the woman on the phone had enough info about my company and my location to make me question it.
This person said they were from DHL and were delivering a package from Oracle. They had the wrong address and would not give me the tracking number and that they needed the right address to deliver in 1 hour. They would not give me the tracking number over the phone, only if I gave them my e-mail address. Lady was extremly hard to understand and said she was calling from new york, but this area code is memphis, tn
