Called my cell phone, no message. I called back, it's Verizon payment center asks for 10-digit phone number to "get started." I typed in the number that called me and it asked for a 4-digit security number. I typed "0000" twice, which of course it didn't recognize, then it transferred me to a representative with a foreign accent. I asked why I was getting calls when I don't have a Verizon account, and at first she said "when you loaned your phone to someone then they might have made a call." I told her I never loan my phone to anyone. She said, "sometimes people give us a call back number that isn't theirs." She apologized and said I won't receive any more calls from them. I highly doubt that but what else can we do when these companies ignore the national do not call registry.
I've had my cell phone for 8 years through AT&T, there is no reason for Verizon to be calling me. Not once have I done business with them, and if anyone used my number as a call-back number then Verizon is highly mistaken.
Called this number back, had to give the automation bogus information until it transferred me to a lady who asked for my name, and I asked for hers. It was Nancy. I asked Nancy why I would receive a call when I use AT&T and always have. She provided no useful feedback and when I asked if they are based out of Tennessee, she said they are not. I immediately asked to speak with her supervisor and she put me on hold only to tell me 2 minutes later her supervisor was with another customer. I asked to speak with her supervisor's supervisor and she said there wasn't one there. Total scam! They are offering "Verizon services" like loading prepaid phones, home, and contractual services. I hate you Nancy, but she already knows that.
Just got a call on my cell. did not answer it but looked it up on the computer and saw all of this info. Thanks for the heads up. And I am with AT&T for 15 years now and have never dealt with Verizon
