He claimed I am in trouble with the IRS, and so I am but payment arrangements have been made already. I requested an email or letter stating the charges so I could shop for the appropriate lawyer. He assured me the letters had already been sent and I had already received them. I told him I had not received anything and he flat out called me a liar. I begged him not to take my 401K (I don't even have a 401K) and he went so far as to tell me he could even get me fired from my present job. He seemed to get upset when I brought t up the fact I had no intentions of doing business with anyone over the phone because I did not know him from Adam, Moses or any other potential scammer. I was beginning to have fun with him and he said he could have law enforcement out for me within the hour .....gotta go brush my teeth....that was 30 minutes ago and I probably ought to spend a few quality moments with my family before my world falls apart. Reckon I'll get one good cup of coffee before I go.
IT IS A SCAM!!! An English sounding computer generated voicemail message "Extremely time sensitive - We are with the Crime Investigation Unit of the Internal Revenue Services - Call (901) 399-9471 - return the call NOW! If you don't return the call the only thing we can do is wish you good luck as this situation unfolds on you." I returned the call it went through to a so called secretary to directed the line to the so called agent. The agent Knew my name repeated it to me and said I owe the IRS $5,000 and to settle it now. I said "Here is my accountants number please call him." He said "NO MAM I am not going to call your accountant." I said "Well I guess you aren't who you say you are, are you? He said let me talk to "??" I said No he will only direct you to our accountant as well. He got very angry and said he was going to have me arrested. I called "??" and asked him to call this person. He did and he was laughing so hard when called this person after they said they were going to have him arrested if he didn't settle the claim right now. The fake agent could NOT give any details of what they were saying. He through out some years - so what he couldn't say what it was for. I called him back 5 times - it went directly to voicemail. This is what the voicemail said in the recording in very broken English with a heavy Indian Accent "You have reached the office of ???? with the crime investigation unit of the IRS - then abruptly another recorded message in English said - "I am sorry but the users box cannot accept anymore messages, sorry."
LOL - when he saw my number pop up again he obviously doesn't want to talk to me. Let's see how long it takes the IRS to find this operation.
Obviously they are from India switching their numbers from computer to computer thinking they aren't being traced.
Caller: Criminal Investigations of IRS
Call Type: Debt Collector
I couldn't really understand the heavily accented message, but the gist of it was that I was wanted for some sort of criminal activity. This call followed one from minutes before, which said I was in trouble with the IRS.
I got the same thing today and yesterday. He's blowing up my phone!!! I answered it, and told him I think it's a scam.... hung up. He had better stop calling.
