The number on the caller ID was 901-443-7312. Said his name was Chris Roy? And he was calling to get my address to present me with a claim at my home address or at my place of employment. Made it sound like I had one chance to resolve the issue and left the 877-213-9220 as a call back. I called the 901 number and got a "Verizon" message saying the number was not valid. I didn't bother calling the 877 number.
He also called me at work and when I questioned who he was and the name of his company, he said he was an agent with Atlantic and couldn't answer any questions as he did not know what was contained in the documents he needed to serve. He wanted to transfer me to someone else and when I told him no need, just serve the papers, he hung up on me and called the receptionist where I work. He gave her the same information from Atlantic and needed to serve papers and wanted to speak with someone else at the company. When she couldn't comply (no one was there) he started yelling at her. It's obviously a scam. They're trying to scare or shame you into giving them money. I owe no one so that won't work. But he did have access to information he shouldn't have had. I say this because he called me a name that had been mistakenly placed on my credit report years and years ago. It was long ago taken off but they obviously had access to that old report. I put a fraud alert on my credit and will report the information I do have.
