Are they legit.? Very doubtful! Their use of the terms bank fraud & wire fraud virtually guarantees that they're nothing but scum sucking bogus debt shysters.
Yes, they can spoof any number they want to. That's very easily done. Scammers have even been known to call people while spoofing those peoples own phone number.
If you decide to answer one of their calls (not recommended) simply DEMAND a notice of validation be mailed (NOT e-mail or fax.) to you. If they start blustering or make claims that already have...case closed. They're low-life bogus debt collectors attempting to make you cough up some money for an invalid, illegal, time-barred or purely fictitious debt. Pay them NOTHING!
Google the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). It's easy to understand & once you familiarize yourself with it you will be virtually un-touchable by the scum out there who are forced to try to survive by defrauding the naïve & gullible.
