they started calling from an unlisted wanted me to return call. Never a call to someone that you don't know.

they call numerous times and at least 2x in a row.  Who are they

These people are scammers. Not my opinion, but confirmed to me by Amazon.com customer service. They called posing as a collection agency and hung up on me in the middle of the call. I called Amazon and they confirmed that these people  are not affililated with them in any way. If they call you, try to get a physical address from them to send the check to. We can stop these people.
