I always raise my voice and answer calls that I am possitive are not from friends or businnesses I deal with..
" WHAT THE HE** DO YOU WANT?? I AM NOT BUYING ANYTHING- WHAT THE HE++ DO YOU WANT- SPEAK UP-IA AM ON THE "DO NOT CALL LIST" WHAT THE HE++ DO YOU WANT??REMOVE ME FROM ALL OF YOUR CALLING LISTS AND DO NOT SELL OR GIVE MY NUMBER TO THE PERSON NEXT TO YOU. SPEAK UP...TOO LATE." then I hang up usually with the caller still trying to recite his/her prepared sales speech. I have been just that rude with solicitors who want money to fix others people's TITS. I have "man boobs but I will not donate money for "breast cancer research" when I have tits of my own to worry about. I will soon be disconnecting my "land line" because there are too many solicitors that have interrupted me and wasted my time even though I am on the "DO NOT CALL LIST!!@!
Offering to fix my computer problem. I did not want to waste too much of my time wasting their time. So I said that I would go turn on my computer. I let him get tired of waiting. They called back a few times, and I let them get tired talking to the air.
I have spent a little more time fielding this kind of scam in the past. The pattern was to tell you to go to a website. The site would be for a download of a trial version of a remote access software. The maker of that software is not an actual party to the scam. It can be a legitimate product that can be useful as long as the password does not fall into the wrong hands. The scammers calling are the wrong hands. I have not gone as far as downloading any software. For those who fall for the scam, the trouble begins when the scammer has the password to a remote access program that the scammer will claim to use to "fix" the computer.
Just got a call from the same Adams Zennia....did not leave a message...never answer it if I don't know who it is calling...just let them leave a message...but they didn't...blood sucking slugs who prey on productive people.
Told me he was calling back regarding information that my computer was running slow. He said "Is your computer running slow?" I said "No." He hesitated a few seconds and said, a bit angrily, "Then why did you call and report your computer running slow?". I said "I didn't". He said, "Are you the primary user or is (he used my husbands name)." I said "We both use the computer quite often. If you want to call back when my husband is available, ...." He hung up. I somehow doubt that my husband called him. He is pretty good with computers. If he can't fix it right away, he will work on it for a long time to try and fix it before he asks for help. And I know he has not been working on anything. The voice was not an American accent. Sounded perhaps from India.
