The same number called my work multiple times trying to get information about me. A certain Mr. Smith informed my workplace that I have a pending case and that the local authorities are going to get me if I don't call back immediately. When I got to talk to a Warren/Ryan Smith, he said he's an investigator and said that I have a pending case and that he's trying to help me. I didn't give any information and when I mentioned that I'm weary about scams, he put the phone down.
I called the local FBI and was told that this is one way of doing identity theft.
I have receive phone calls from this phone number multiple times over the last two weeks from a Ricky Watson, who is from India telling me that I have a case pending against me and that they can help me if I pay $1289 to them. I have told them that I have contacted my local law enforcement, which did not phase this person at all. I talked to a detective and he told me that these people are scam artists and do not give them any information, he also asked me to see if I could get a mailing address from them. So this morning when they called me I asked for a mailing address to send them the money and he told me that he could not give me a mailing address, but I could get a pre paid Visa card from Walmart or use Western Union, but I would have to call him from there to give me all that information. I told him that I would call him back in an hour, which I did call him back and told him that I could not give him a credit card number and that I could only send him money so please give me an address, but he would not and told me that he was trying to help me and I told him that I could not pay them, so he me that I could face the courts with this matter and then hung up on me, so I called him straight back and told him that I had recorded these phone calls for the FBI and my State Attorneys office, he then hung up on me again.
Im on it I will hunt these guys down as long as it takes I actually paid them 1000 3 months ago and the still keep calling Iam dumb for doing that and will never get it back ,but now Im hunting these guys everyday
