Just got a call from this number, she said she was Marissa Meyer with Eddie Davis Automotive (my company is an automotive parts supplier, and we do not have a customer by that name) and wanted to talk to the owner. I always screen owners calls so first she said this was a business matter. Said I would be glad to take the order as the owner is in a meeting then suddenly it was a personal matter, quick google came up with this website and I just hung up, she called back demanding to speak to my direct manager, good luck sweetie, that is me. When I told her I don't wish to waste my time on scam calls she said 'this is a business matter, I told you that!'. I said well which is it? And hung up on her again.
Seems very much like a scam. This number shows up on other sites like this. They are relentless in calling and are asking for rather detailed information. Best to hang up and block the number if possible.
Showed up as private caller on my work's caller ID.
They asked to speak with the owner, said they are calling from the security company (we use a local security company, so this was already odd). When I told them I was the manager, they asked "The owner was to leave a detailed list with emergency contacts, what's her cell number again?"
When I said I couldn't give that information out, they said "You don't understand, she left us a contact page in case of emergency I just need the cell phone number."
I told her that I'd feel more comfortable having the owner call her back and answer her questions. She was pushy and said "There are no questions, I just need the number." I told her I couldn't give it and she hung up.
Spam phone call. Called this afternoon asking for the owner of the business. When I told her she wasn't in she said "Oh and what is her cellphone number again?" Refused to leave a message, kept asking questions to try to figure out when would be the best time to get the owner of the business. I could hear another man shadowing on the line telling her exactly how to respond to each one of my responses.
These people have called this week a couple of times and ask for the XXXX I tell the lovely (not) lady that XXXX started the company and does not work here. She told me the other day that she would just call back and just hung up. This lovely (not) lady just called today and I told her the same thing and asked that she remove us from her list. She said that there is no list. Right lovely (lady)! She said she would just call another agency...I said ok :) I am sure I will hear from her again, but with my caller ID...I can just not answer!!!
