Recieved call from 904-257-4693 claiming to be "Hydro Energy Product Ltd." offering a device to cut power costs by 30-40 % . He called the device "Hydro Power Service device" and as above, quoted the cost as $150.00, refundable if not satisfied in 3 months time. 904 is a Florida area code. Asked to speak with the manager for further info, who said his name was Frank Parker, but he had a non English type accent, as did the first caller. Advised them we would contact our hydro company and Better Business Bureau to verify validity and he did not sound too happy.
Call from "Hyrdo Power" offering a device to cut hydro bills by 30-40%.
There needed to be a $150 deposit that would be refundable when we no longer wanted the device. A government rebate was also mentioned. Caller ID'd himself as Jerry Watson and when questioned about where the 904 area code was, he replied it was a special corporate number from Mississauga Ontario.
Caller identified himself as a representative of Hydro One specifically. Would not tell me where area code 904 was from. I verified with Hydro One that they DO NOT make any calls offering a special device that reduces hydro bills. Caller seemed to know approx. what my monthly hydro bills were in dollars.
