Same thing here. They left a VM for me @ my moms house. I'm not being sued. I called back and the recording said something about an attempt to collect a debt...but the office was closed. I called the number they left on the machine not the 800 number. Hmmm...as my boyfriend said, sounds grimey.
Over the past year - have had various calls all obviously part of a scam operation. They use false "debt ploys" to intimidate . But once you request some details from them - they quickly fall to the scum level they are and fall apart on the phone..
These blowhards are Accelerated Receivables Management Services (ARMS). I thought they went bankrupt years ago from all of their "Illegal Debt Collection Practice" lawsuits. I guess they're still making it somewhere as just another one of the many bottom feeder collectors.
This is a third party bill collector that is breaking the FDCPA laws. Get an attorney and get names of who you spoke to and what they are saying. It is NOT legal to threaten legal action on you if they have no intent on doing so. They have to ID you properly by social security number or last four digits and address, BEFORE they can discuss the debt .. You can contact the BBB, the FTC and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau .. BULLIES!! they try to intimidate to force payments, send a cease and desist letter and make sure you use that terminology "I am writing you in regards to my account with you and I want you to cease and desist all calls to me .. here is the main number and contact info for them A.R.M.
