They called me left a message saying that they where from the United States Federal Investigation Department and that I was being sued for $412 against my social security number and that if I didnt contact them within 60 minutes they were going to send the local police department to arrest me and make sure that i was behind bars. I did some research and there is no division of this department.

called and left me a message saying that they were from the government and that if I didn't call them they were going to send the police after me. Thats all that I could understand. Because he of his accent and all of the background noise. This isn't the first time that this has happened to me. Another company in florida tried the same thing two years ago saying that they were with the government and went so far as to call my job at the time and tell them that if I didn't get a hold of them that they were going to send cops to my childs school and pick thme up and have cops come and arrest me. When I called them back they couldn't tell me what it was reguarding but that i needed to send them 600.00 dollars but five pm. I didn't and it turned out to be a scam. And I reported it to the cops and my childs school.

The devices work quite well (at least according to available reports), but neither magicJack VocalTech nor YMAX Corporation is to blame for the fact that they are also useful tools for criminals who want to operate overseas and/or hide their locations. On the other hand, they have cooperated with at least one state attorney general who subpoenaed records of their calls and their location (or IP address).
So try contacting your state's attorney general if you are being harassed by calls from this number.
Or you could ask them for a badge number to report them for soliciting a bribe.
