Morgan Price has been calling me everyday since 2/15/2017 up to today 2/23/2017. She says I owe on a payday loan from a bank account that was closed in January 2013. She offered some ridiculous "settlement". A "REAL" company would not drop the amount due by Hundreds of dollars and she got the date wrong that I had an account with that particular bank. Her mother raised her well....
I'm not saying the call you received was legit but real companies do make offers like that, reducing one's debt by many hundreds of dollars in order to get something from the borrower and in turn that gets the bad debt off their books. Banks, loan co., any financial institution will charge off thousands from borrowers who default on their loans Happens every day. But expect a 1099 for the amount that was charged off the debt bc the IRS will consider that unearned income and taxes will be owed on it.. Just an FYI...
What "Bill" is referring to is a attempt by a criminal organization pretending to be a debt collector, to extort money. If you are referring to the so called "debt settlement" companies that charge you money, most of them are crooks also, especially since you can negotiate that settlement on your own for free.
