A man called my home phone and identified himself as Eric Jackson from the Department of Criminal Investigation. He told me that my son must call him immediately or criminal charges would be filed against him. I told him that my son does not live here but he insisted I relay this message to my son. He continued to call my home phone over and over. I finally answered again and a different man than before talked to me and identified himself as Officer Williams and repeated what the guy before said. I told him I was going to report him. He got very angry and screamed at me and said, "Who do you think you are threatening me? Go ahead and report me" and he started to threaten me with the arrest of my son. He said he was immediately contacting the police department in my city and they would be coming to my home. He then hung up on me. I was beyond shocked. I investigated a little on the internet and found that none of what they told me was true. This is another way debt collectors are using to collect money owed by people. I am reporting this to my local police department.
Heard of a similar scam a couple years back but now they are stating they are from "State Bureau of Investigations" "State Police Dept" and "Dept of Bureau of Criminal Investigations" with an urgent message and a time frame regarding serious allegations. At first you are a bit afraid because they are stating there's a legal case that if not settled it then goes to criminal. But then I got similar calls from different numbers unknown and area code 202 or numbers with not enough digits saying the same thing each call came from phony numbers with heavy accents and with Deputy or Officer in front of the name initially Kevin Swift. They threaten to contact family members and friends and arrest me at my home or job for a pending legal case against my social security number, name, address, and banking details. I can only guess its from a pay day loan I took out given timing and probably because I used one of those search engines that find multiple companies. Never again I got over 1000 emails and countless phone calls. It was beyond annoying. Be careful using the web folks.

Just recieved a call from these weirdos a sammuel baxter trying to explain to me that I had a loan I took out with cash advance usa online the end of 2012 or the beginning of 2013 and I know for sure I didnt take a loan out around then I did apply for one online but was denied thats how they were able to get my information and when I told him that I know this was a scam and I am going to report u to the police and the in my credit he tgen got mad and started yelling telling me to wait for 45 min and I'll see when I get arrested ok I then hung up they are also harrassing by email as well
