Like fog, I too am on both federal and state DNC lists. Apparently companies have tested the waters and found that the agencies involved in investigating complaints are woefully underfunded and understaffed meaning that they can get away with quite a bit for quite some time until said agencies issue a Cease & Desist. Meaning they close under current name and open with another and right back in business. No teeth in laws, no one doing jail time for violations equal ineffective law, same as no law. Yet we continue to file complaints that go nowhere. Thanks a lot to our non-governing bodies.
This number 904-693-6632; ID: Brooks, HC; has called me numerous times. Leaves no message. Does not answer his/her phone when I call back, and there is no recorder for me to leave message.. I am on the Do not call list.
It's the Vietnam Veterans of America Donations scheduler. If you have donated with them in the past and asked them to notify you for future donations, then being on the DNC list doesn't apply.
When this number calls my home, Caller ID listed is "Brooks, C.H.". Since the other comments list it as such and also state there's no one that answers when they pick up, it's probably a scam. Scammers have the ability to spoof phone numbers and they often plug in Caller IDs that look legit and even the phone numbers of businesses or other people, all to entice people to answer their phones. I think some are just testing if it's a live number, since after C.H. Brooks calls, I get another call from another unknown caller shortly afterwards.
