I called back. If you press 9 on the recording, they say they will remove you from the list. Wait until the autovoice confirms that you have been removed. I just did this so we'll see if they really do remove my cell number.
All you have done is validate your number as a working number. The FTC advise people to never press a number to be removed from a list. This will generate more calls from these criminals, and you can expect calls from other criminals.
Called my cell. Did not answer. Gosh, I wish these pathetic creatures would get the message that their actions are a waste of their time. Also, they should realize what scum they are.
I know from experience that telemarketers are just doing their job like the rest of us when we're at work. But I wish that the rules governing what they can and cannot do or more strict and more enforceable than they are because they should not be calling DNC numbers and they should not be calling after you've been requested to be taken off their list. I don't like calling these people stuff because they're just human beings like you and I but it does get tiring. This definitely was some sort of spam or scam as noted earlier.
