this person has also called me a few times. today i picked it up. the man on the other end identified himself as someone from the st. john's cty. sherriff's office and was asking me for a 'donation' for some program. i usually say no right awa, but i let him keep talking. he pretty much asked for my personal info AND credit card number! i was like, can you send me information instead? right before i gave him my address, it got disconnected. i called the sherriff's office back and they said that no one is calling around. it's a SCAM! and of course, when i tried to call the # back, it was disconnected.
This low life form, keeps on calling and calling, when answered he/she simply hangs up. When I called the number back, there is a message saying that, "due to phone company facility trouble, we can not connect your call."
Be aware, this might be another form of scam coming up.
My parents were getting harassing phone calls from the Fraternal Order of the Police.
They would use so many different phone numbers & different names, such as connecting, utilities, etc.....
I live here as well and my parents would not want to speak to them.
My parents would tell them no and not to call. I would tell them we are not interested stop calling.
One time they called and asked for my mother, I said she isn't here and stop calling. The man was so rude saying he would call as much as he wanted. I told him this phone is in MY name, I am telling you not to call my phone number, it is harassment, plain and simple.
Once my mother said "I am sorry I don't have time now" and the man had the audacity to say "Oh well, we will send yada yada yada and you can pay us"
My mother was like "WHOA, that is a scam and in no way did I say anything or give you an indication that I would purchase anything"
My parents gave years ago but after their harassing phone calls, ill mannered or ignorant personnel they want nothing to do with this organization. YET they can't seem to get it through to these scam artist.
We have a phone now where we can block phone numbers.
We have blocked over 10 that the Fraternal Order of Police use.
Pretty pathetic that instead of getting people to donate they infuriate them to the point that they HATE this organization and the people doing the calling.
OH and my brother & husband both work as officers for different agencies, they both think that this organization is full of scam artist.
OH and today they called 5+ times in a row in less than 2 hours.
