I got a call yesterday claiming they were from the Associated Press and were doing a survey. I agreed to it. His first question was, besides myself, how many other people over the age of 18 lived in my house. So I told him, and then he said that the survey asks to speak to the person in the house who has had the most recent birthday. That's when I got suspicious. It seemed like an odd question. I said they weren't home at the moment and they asked when would be a good time to call back. I informed them that no one else in the house would be willing to take their survey because we are on the Do Not Call list. He insisted that it was ok for them to call because they were conducting a survey, not selling anything and that they would call back later, then hung up. They called again that night. My mom answered the phone and they asked who they were speaking to. When she stated her name, she heard people talking in the background but no one spoke, so she hung up. They've just called again and once again, no one said anything when she answered the phone.

Received a call at 9:15pm claiming to be Associated Press wanting to do a survey on important issues. He wanted the number of adults in the household. He didn't want to talk to me, but inquired as to the name of the other adult and when he could reach him.
I just received a call from them as well, at 9:30pm. I was across the house, my husband wanted to know whether or not he should answer & I told him go ahead, it should be family calling at this hour, not a business, since it is illegal to phone homes after 9pm.
Thanks for linking the web site for the company; the information matches what was on my Caller ID. I understand that these people are just workin' a job but this company needs to keep an eye on what it is doing, if they are inadvertently breaking the law. I don't want to be phoned after 9pm for a survey; that's getting to be the hour when only my family should be contacting me.
ER SURVEYS called me twice - first time they left a message saying
they were calling for an Associated Press survey (political) and would call again.
They Just Called at 5:23 pm ON MOTHERS DAY - Sunday -
I told them I had no business with them and that I was on the Do Not Call List.
They told me it was a survey (political) so that it was okay for them to call me BLINDLY
using an AUTODIALER.
I tried to get the guy to remove me from their company's call list - I asked for his company's full name.
He just said ER SURVEYS (which was the ID NAME on my phone) and that he was in Texas (when I asked where he was calling from) . SHEESH - mothers day AND sunday AND dinner time for a SURVEY?!?!?!?!?
I dont think that ASSOCIATED PRESS is a POLITICAL Organization that can claim the exemption from the DO NOT CALL LIST (charities, etc) by using random AUTO DIALING..... claiming survey....
IF Associated Press is doing the survey - THEY ought to call... and have a number to complain to ...
The guy kept cutting me off - trying to get me to do the survey with
"well since you are on the phone now - why dont you just take the survey" paraphrased.
Ultimately - he said " I can only remove you from THIS SURVEY's calling"
I went on line to http://www.easternresearchsurveys.com/donotcall/ and put in my numbers
for so that THE ENTIRE COMPANY needs to remove my number and not just for this survey.
I will be trying to find out about Assoc Press as to whether this is exempt or not!
SURVEYS ought not to be exempt from the DO NOT CALL LIST unless they have been pre approved by the owner of the phone number thereby establishing approval.....
Received a voice mail from this number stating it was the Associated Press calling to get my opinion on a few important matters and they would try to call me back later.
