Got a call from 904-863-0217 today. It's the ame company that calls from 321-735-96xx (last 2 digits change). Accelerated Services Inc. is the company's name. They've been calling me upwards of 5 times a day for the last 2 months. They spoof caller ID (fake phone numbers). I've spoken to the telephone company that owns their lines (Paetec Communications). Accelerated is getting these lines through a re-seller, which I don't know the name of. Credit card fraudsters, for sure. Only a scammer would refuse to give any information about their "company" or treat callers the way these people do.
The way they work is as follows: They claim they will lower your interest rates on your credit cards because they have knowledge that we (average Joe) do not, and credit card companies won't give the average account holder the time of day when it comes to lowering interest rates.
Bottom Line: They will charge to your credit card their "fee", likely a ridiculous amount. I've never heard of anyone trying to accomplish this and cannot state what they charge or if they only try to charge the card once.
It's a scam, people. If you want lower interest rates, talk to your credit card company yourself, using the toll-free number on the back of your card.
For everyone here, it is the FTC (Federal Trade Commission), not the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) that oversees the USA Do Not Call Registry.
How the registry works is as follows:
You give your numbers to be added to the list. They get added to the list. This list is available to EVERY company that is controlled by the list. So, the companies now have all your numbers. They are supposed to act ethically, and use that list as it was intended, numbers that ARE NOT TO BE CALLED. Scammers and fraudsters, who are already breaking the law, don't care about the Do Not Call List. Furthermore, the USA DNCL does not apply to Canadians, nor does the Canadian DNCL apply to the US.
The security officer at Paetec Communications has done his own investigation regarding the numbers that were called from (the 321-735-96xx numbers) and was not able to trace the calls due to those numbers being in a block that was rented to a re-seller, who Accelerated Savings, Inc. gets them from.
A few days after speaking with the Paetec agent, an investigator from the FTC called for details regarding the calls made to me. There is apparently a "non-public" investigation under way. If you get another call like this, write down the Caller ID, date and time, then report the call to the FTC.
DO NOT register with the DNCL. It doesn't work, obviously, and you're just giving your number to a bunch of companies and trusting they won't use it inappropriately.

They have a number on their website, call and harass them but REMEMBER TO BLOCK YOUR NUMBER FROM SHOWING ON THEIR CALLER ID.
I am going to call Paetec back, the phone company that owns the numbers showing up on your call display, and report this number as well. Paetec merged with US Lec and now both companies are operated under Paetec. I suggest you all do the same, keep records of your calls, the Caller ID, date and time of EVERY call. Report them right away. Maybe someone will get tired of hearing it and do something about it...
Tried calling the FTC, and when prompted, I pressed "2" to file a complaint. Got me nowhere because as soon as you press "2", the call gets disconnected (tried 4 times)... Gotta love your government at work, hmm USA?
Anyway, here is the phone number for Paetec's fraud department:
What happens to a US telemarketer who violates the Canadian National Do Not Call List rules?
Telemarketers from the US, and other countries, making calls to Canadian consumers must still follow the CRTC’s Unsolicited Telecommunications Rules, including the National DNCL Rules.
If a Canadian organization hires a telemarketing agency outside of Canada, and there’s a complaint against the organization, it will be investigated by the CRTC. If a telemarketer has violated the Rules, the CRTC may impose a penalty of up to $1500 per violation for individuals and up to $15,000 per violation for corporations.
