Got a call from this just now, the guy said he was from the Rogers promotion department. He asked who my provider was for phone, internet and cable, I answered Rogers (? Thought that's why he called our number)
He then said he'd give us a twenty percent discount and how much is our current bill- thought that was weird so I said that I didn't know I don't have it in front of me and he said ok and hung up
Got a call from this number claiming they are from Bell. (I got the number using *69). He was trying to sell me a deal for Bell Phone and Internet. Asked who do I have my home phone with. I told him, its with Bell, you should already know that and have it in your system if you are actually FROM Bell.. He hung up.
I received a call with the same # on January 31st /17 at 9:25am & I usually don't answer if I don't recognize the number because I receive many solicitation calls. I have also received fictious calls saying they were from Revenue Canada & if i didn't cooperate the police would arrest me in 20mins. It was so blatantly obvious that the man was NOT a police constable & basically read from a script.I called audit fraud the next day & they've tried to nab these ppl that work out of Nigeria even though it was a cdn area code. There is also a group that works out of India on an anti viral scam in addition to saying they are from Rogers when they aren't. I had a reprieve & then started to receive threatening calls once again. This particular time the person wouldn't answer on the other end
Said they were from Rogers offering me a promotion (I am with Rogers). I asked to be removed ffom their calling list. He said no and hung up. Total scam.
