I received a call and the guy asked for my husband by his first name, I said he wasn't available and could I tell him who was calling. Answer was "It's a local charity, we'll call back" Well not from that number they won't because............
I have a sure fire cure. It's called call block. Bell offers to block up to 12 unwanted number...dial *60 immediately after the call and follow the prompts. This is not a scam...check in your Bell phone directory under "Smart Touch Services" in the 'Call Privacy' section...right hand side of page.
Also many wireless phones offer to block up to 30 numbers...they ring maybe 1x and are cut off. On my Panasonic phone I just bring up the number under 'caller id', press 'save' and there is an option for call block...scroll up to it and press and follow the remaining prompts. Once you have filled your 30 numbers you have to go in and delete one of the older ones to add a new one. That's found in my menu under 'Initial settings' then scroll down to call block.
never leaves a message. these are usually calls from telemarketers and the computers automatically dial and if there is no response to your "hello" they usually havnt picked it up on their end yet. a friend turns it around on them and tries to sell them pizza's lol or you can say hold one moment and don't go back to the phone let them get annoyed instead of u.
I received a call from this number on Dec 16/11 at 10:43 a.m. Said hello and got no response but it was an open line and I heard a bunch of people talking and laughing in the background. Sounded like a party going on but they didn't invite me;) Hmmm very interesting and mysterious but also annoying.
they called asking for money for a special event (charity) in my area. we told them we could not support them and hung up. they called back immediately and we let the machine pick it up. they left a message in the form of a "raspberry" or "bronx cheer". we star 69'ed them and returned the call, leaving the same message. we do not donae money to any "charity" over the phone. legitimate charities are well-known to everybody and most of them deserve support. somehow this doesn't strike me as being a legitimate charity.
