Just had a from a guy with an Indian accent call saying that they were from Microsoft and they were getting messages that my computer was getting download with virus. Told him it was in the repair shop - it will not sove the problem as they are not Microsoft approved. - Can only be solved on line with the Authorised Technicians from Microsoft,Of which he is one. Wanted to know when my computer will be back (I am using it now) so that he can call back. Very persistent.
A guy with a thick Indian or Pakistan accent called me at my cottage that my computer is broken and he wants me to go sit at the computer. I DON'T have a computer at the cottage. I tell him that and he says "Oh" and hangs up.
Just called, a man with a very strong Indian accent says they are from Windows, not even from Microsoft, chomping on his lunch. I told him, Windows (Microsoft) doesn't call anyone, told him to F**K off, and I hung up..
Phoned and said he was from Microsoft and it is not a fraud. Got me to put up a dos box and command "assoc". Then tried to convince me the CLSID on the longest line (ZFSendToTarget=CLSID{888DCA60-FC0A-11CF-8F0F-00C04FD7D062} proved that he knew my 'computer id' as credentials. Bogus. The class id is set by the programmer and is the same for the same entry on any computer.
