Many thanks to the reporting community who contribute warnings and useful, helpful information. We are our own and only first line of defense and no one should be answering unidentified or unrecognized numbers, even if they appear to be local or toll-free numbers...they most likely are spoofed.. Just by dialing your number unsolicited, they are in violation of the DNC, therefore a scam. The second line of defense is to promptly hang up. Do not respond in any way...not by voice or selection. Third, be sure to register all your numbers and report any unwanted contact to FTC, DNC. One more...SHRED.
Called on land line phone. I rejected the call as unrecognized, assume scam/telemarket...same thing violating DNC.
SCAMMING AND PHISHING CAN ONLY SUCCEED IF THERE IS A MARKET. Be smart and aware. Educate yourself, share and report.

Called landline. Left no message. CID displayed Elizabeth NJ. We NEVER answer ANY unsolicited call. A legitimate caller will leave a message with their name, company name and valid call back number. It is rude, unprofessional and not proper phone etiquette to call and not leave a message. Call ignored.
Caller claimed to by from NJ Police Officer Fund or Foundation. My understanding is police do not call for donations. 2nd, why is the number not registered to the organization? CallerID only showed Elizabeth NJ
