This phone number shows up on my caller ID several times a week.  Tonight it called about 7:45 pm and I happened to answer the phone.  He almost seemed surprised that he got an answer.  He said  "Hello ma'am this is John from the Associated Fireman's Fund".  I stopped him dead in his tracks and told him that I knew that he and his phone call were total BS and that he's scum for trying to scam people and then I hung up on him.  I recognized his deep voice,  He had just called here Sunday morning too and I hung up on him as soon as he said  the word 'fireman's'  because I know first hand that the police department and the fire department and the rescue squad and the PAL do NOT ever phone call to solicit donations..... they MAIL out donation envelopes twice a year and they run other fundraisers such as an annual basketball game  (cops v fireman) and stuff like that.   EVERYBODY beware that the state police and the local fire departments NEVER make phone calls seeking donations EVER
