Got the same call. I do believe the IRS sends stuff out in the mail. In fact, I have received something years past that made me pay more, all through the mail. I wish there was a way I could spam this guy, start ddos attack on his land line. Maybe I'll research that.
They are claiming they are from IRS. This is a TOTAL SCAM. Don't believe one word of it! They tried this BS, on a friend of my and they try to harass you into giving your personal information (they are identity thieves). If you don't recognize this phone number, don't answer it! Don't call them back either. They prey on mostly people that don't know about these types of scams, so let your friends and family know, especially let the senior citizens in your family know not to answer these guys. The saddest part is that the cops will do nothing to get these guys. These guys are clearly committing fraud. They may also use multiple phone numbers, and this is one of those phone numbers...... Just be cautious and be aware. IF this was really IRS, they would send you a legal document notification, with officially stamped IRS documentation and agents name, number, address. The people attached to this phone number refuses to disclose their location, so that is a big RED flag, of a scam.....
I saw the call came in from Elizabeth NJ. Don't know anyone who lives there so didn't answer. Oddly enough they left a message saying I needed to call this number immediately this was at 6:37 A.M. Obviously another scam.
