Got call from 908-555-6769 at 12:15pm Oct 29. I said hello twice before hearing someone say something like "stupid" then hung up. Loud noise in background
This company calls every now and then, my land line is now turned off because I get so many of these calls.
There is a whole industry out there that is gleaning your addresses and phone numbers from the internet so that they can harass you with goods that you do not want, or are overpriced. Also note, that each time a store, let's say the retailer with the big red bullseye asks for your email address, they are also probably selling it off to another company, for a fee.
Just got a call from this number, called himself "Chimney Sweep Service" said they were coming to my home tomorrow at noon to clean chimney for $49.00 when we had not called them or scheduled any appointment. When I said we had not scheduled appt the man became abusive & said I did not listen to his opening statement that he was "calling to schedule the appointment". I told him we did not want to schedule an appointment & he said he wanted to speak with my husband whose name he had along with our address because he wanted to speak to "someone with intelligence" that because we didn't clean our chimney/flue he would call PSEG & have our service turned off.
The man continued to behave abusively so I had to hang up. We did NOT solicit this service or ever work with this company. I do not know how they got our number & address, but this company/person is despicable!!!!!
Recieved the same "stupid" chimney msg 11-25-14 identified theselves as PSE &G. Called PSE&G to alert of scam. fyi... PSE&G DO NOT clean chimneys... Check IDS
Just got a call [black Friday] from mr. chimney. He said he was coming to clean my chimney on Monday in co-operation with our local fire depts. I told him he had the wrong number as I did not want that done. He got pushy, so I told him I did not want him to do any cleaning. Then... he said .. "are you stupid, or just too F...ing cheap?", as I hung up. A real businessman. Scammer type.
