SCAM 908-955-8149 Breast Cancer Survivors Foundation.
I had a call 3/20/13 @ 2:17pm from 908-955-8149 caller id just showed "Chester".
An older lady with heavy sounding black lady voice (best way to describe it) acting sweet but not really wanting to answer questions or listen to what I had to say called soliciting a pledge for money for "The Breast Cancer Survivors charity" and in return I would get a letter from "The President" of the charity, the very...very..good thing to give money to charity as she put it.
I told this lady I never heard of the charity and asked if she could send me some information about it, she said alright then thanks and hung up!
First off any legitimate charity will not just try to sweet talk you, they will talk about the charity mission, have info available like amount of money that will be used for the charitable purpose and amount used for administrative purposes.
The charity will have an official name, ID, tax ID, address, legitimate phone number you can look up, and willing to send printed materials about the charity.
Any so called charity refuses to offer any of this is bogus and that is what they are doing.
Anyway I figured what the hell is this "charity", never heard of it so did a little research.
1.) This phone number is not linked to any charity.
2.) The breast cancer survivors foundation, the only charity I could actually find has extremely bad ratings, basically keeps all the money they collect for expenses and no money is used for charitable purposes.
Please look into this, I'd hate to see elderly charitable givers defrauded by such scam artists.
