The person/persons are posing as Exxon Mobil recruiting Staff, offering well paid secure Employment in Alaska. I am from U.K.  and after sending a Scanned Passport, they requested an Expatriate workers Insurance Policy Certificate (EWIPC) also a Affi-davit of support, which do not exist. They also request a payment from you for these services. Scam, Scam, Scam. The letterheads and Address look Genuine Exxon Mobil format typed letter, but the poor termination of English language is the giveaway and the wrong phone number for Exxon Mobil, Alaska.

Thanks Guys, Same here, received and offer from Statoil Angola out of nowhere 19th March - good offer, role offered and work scope was detailed well and knowledgeable about my skillset.  Checked the Statoil website for employment protocol  - interviews, referrals etc required.
Queried with the "Statoil " Head of Human resources Dept (Mr Khumalo) who sent me the offer and his response was its slightly different with the hiring consultants.
I just received the email back from John Sterling requesting certain things which I have not responded to as I was uncertain and suspicious - thinking an email sooner than later about costs etc.
The ph number and address is the same as what is mentioned already +1702894244.
Bit concerning that they have obviously been sent my CV from someone.
Just wondering who and which group gave them access to my CV.
Thanks to Google I just found these posts - was a bit suspicious before and I was never convinced but now I am getting concerned about personal information and confidentiality.

Same here, this statoil scam, thought it looked good and the job spec and rate was bang on for me $6000 USD a month in Angola then didn't see the proper contact details for the immigration lawyer like a web address and the fax number etc etc company registration on the letter head at the bottom or so as this is a legal requirement I am led to believe. Load of bollox, shame though as it looked very attractive, would of done it if it was the real deal too. Nevermind they never asked me for moneney up front they are wanting you to fill in the visa application form with passport number and copy of it and your mother and fathers details and well everything really. Just report all phone numbers and emails so they can get tracked down.
I am in for a job in Saudi and it is a different thing altogether like a INTERVIEW first after a phone call from Agent dealing with client and then see what happens.

Be careful it looks like they have done a decent job but looks closely like the grammer and so is bolloxs.
