I got a few calls and they wanted to work with me on pain management and teach me how to deal with pain medication that I'm on! NOT!!! I'm not on pain medications and don't plan on it! But they do not take NO for an answer!
I got two calls within 1 minute - at 2:28pm on 2/11/15 - one was "Unavailable", and the other was 909-280-8016 . I didn't answer, but one of them left a voicemail. I'm not sure which, since they called within seconds of each other, though I seem to get spam calls in pairs if I don't answer the first call, so I suspect the two are connected. The voicemail was a robotic voice claiming that it was a final notice that the IRS was filing suit against me. They told me to call 206-855-5833 for more information on the case. Something about the wording seemed fishy, so I called the 206 number from a work phone, and got a generic voicemail, but with a British accent: "The person you are trying to reach is not available. Please leave a message after the beep." Either the IRS has decided to forgo a profession answering service, or IT'S A TRAP!
A call from this number today went unanswered as it had no caller id.
I have no problem ignoring calls from unknowns.
My phone has no voicemail setup, so there was no message.
Got this call on my Xfinity home phone number which is on file exactly nowhere except Comcast. I don't even have a phone connected to the modem/router, but the package price is lower than a la carte, so the service is there, just never used by me. The incoming calls show up on my TV, and for fun I have been checking the numbers. Telemarketers, political robo calls, debt collectors (I don't owe anything), scams of every variety. Obviously, they just generate numbers and auto dial.
For my cell phones, I set the default ring to "No Ring/No Vibrate", and change my known contacts to another ring tone. People I know who need to be added to my contacts can leave a message, and I will add them. I ignore numbers from callers who don't leave a message. It was something of a pain to set up at first, but it works well for me now.
