I received a call out of nowhere from the phone number asking if I were serious about selling a lot that I had listed on fsbo.com.  I was in a crowd and didn't hear his name or the name of his company but he said he was representing a developer looking for 50 acres of land in the Gulf Coast area.  I told him to call me back the next day, then looked up his number online and saw that it was Vacant Land America/Knightingale Real Estate Solutions.  I called them at their website number 912-729-5544 to verify that they existed and that calling people cold to inquire about land was something legitimate that their company did.  I was told they didn't contact people unless they had someone specific interested in the land, and they would contact the buyer that was interested in our land and call back in 20 minutes.  They never called back and I'm sure it was because we seemed like customers who were aware of potential scams.  Thank goodness for this website's comments that verified our suspicions before they were to call back!
