According to the first poster this caller is soliciting for a charity. As such they are not required to screen numbers against the Do Not Call list before calling. They are required to maintain an internal Do Not Call list and place numbers on it when requested.
Called when I wasn't home. When I called back, she said she was calling with the "Kids Wish Network" and went into her written spiel about their fundraiser. As I am on my lunch hour not to mention the Do Not Call List, I simply hung up as I couldn't get a word in edgewise. I'm all for donating to charities, but I'd much prefer that I receive the information via mail so that I can look it over at my convenience. About to cancel my landline because of this type of thing. I know they are just doing their job, and I know that I couldn't do it.
