got a call from a dude who said he was going to lower my interest rate to prime. Asked him what prime was and he said 7.99%!! I asked him in what country......and after 10 seconds of silence he hung up on me....
Dude with a heavy accent that I almost couldn't understand claimed to be working for "VISA and MasterCard" when I asked. Sounded fishy. He said he was going to lower my interest rates to 6%!!! Then he asked me to verify my postal code by telling it to him. I told him to tell me and I'd confirm. He said that he wasn't allowed to disclose customer info.Probably the most legitimate thing he said. Also, the number I was contacted at is not the number that is registered with my VISA or MasterCard account that I may or may not have but claimed to be offering because I'd paid my bill on time for the last couple months. As well, he asked whether I live in the city next to mine (where my number is registered and technically the city's amalgamated a few years back but no one acknowledges it), not my mailing address.
I as a rule don't answer if I don't recognize the # - or if it is blocked etc. I've received several calls from 912-378-9211 including today @12:15 pm. A get other calls (regularly) from other numbers. Sometimes several a day. I take it in stride (have been anyway) but would really like to know if there was someway to end this iritation.
Man with a heavy accent called, Asked if I have a Visa or Mastercard, asked if my rates were above 12%, then said I quilified for a lower rate because I had been paying my bills online for that last couple years. He asked aproximately how much I had owing on the cards, and when I said that I do not give that information out he hung up. I'd say that this is a scam!
