My handicapped son (age 38) got a call from this number yesterday. Caller identified herself as "Ms. Meyers" and said he did not pay a pay day loan seven years ago and now owes over $700. She said if he did not pay it immediately she was reporting him to the IRS. He was scared to death (even though he did not owe any money to anyone) and told her he would have his Dad call her back. When no one called her back, she called my son again. Fortunately this time I was nearby and he handed the phone to me. She gave me the same song and dance. I really let her have it and hung up on her.
Bottom line: it's a scam. If she calls you, feel free to call her every name in the book. What low life!
It's probably Habitat for Humanity. They have used many numbers with area code 912 and exchange 480, going from the last four numbers being 2999 to 3605. I'm at the point where I may just block all calls from area 912.
This burns me - I used to do volunteer work for them, and contribute to their cause because I believed that they were reputable. Now this phone is hardwired to their 'solicit' list, and I'll try to put as much distance as I can between us.
