I received a similar call today. My caller ID says this call originated from a Jim Kingston, 1-876-865-5609.
When the phone call came in, they did confirm my address - which is creepy. I knew this must be a scam so I checked it out online, rather than call the number I was given for the "Mr. Baker" at the Bank of America.
Pretends to be CEO of Bank of America. I've just won Readers Digest $2.5 Million and $250,000.00 will be delivered to my home in a brinks truck If I send $1000.00 to LaFrica Bennett in a money gram. Rather rude and insistant Moneygram Moneygram Moneygram!!!!!!!
It's a scam, I also received a call from Ms. Jones stating the same, that she was with Publisher's Clearing house, that I needed to call the 1-914-865-5609 mr. John Baker @ Bank of America to get the money and set up delivery. I checked with Bank of America and found that it's a scam. When I confronted this Mr. Baker he segested I proform a oral sex!!! They only asked for $400.00 dollars be sent to same person in Jamaica, West Indies.
Received the call stating that I had won 2.5 million and to call Mr. Baker at this number and ask for Mr. Baker. The call actually came from Kingston, JM at 876-896-4047.
Do they think I am stupid?
No need to report it because noone can do anything about it. The BBB? They just tell you it is a scam and not to answer the phone when these numbers show up.
What about people who don't have caller ID?
