I got a call from this #, only 30 seconds after another suspicious call from NV (I'm in NY) that came back o numerous people/ places including the box office for a boxing venue in Lake Tahoe. Could be anyone; I just let any call I don't know ring on & on, it's their dime. Answer and they know they've found a live #.
They have a caller id of State Troop which is enough to give me a heart attack since my children are out. They've called a number of times but no one answers when I pick up. It's a horrible tactic - who ever they are. I've reported it to the FCC. I wish I could block numbers on my landline as easily as I do on my cell.
I've also received calls from this number. Most at an odd hour in the evening. I don't have caller ID so I didn't know about the "State Troop" identification they've attached to their number. Generally, I don't answer my phone and just let the machine pick up. The odd thing is, these calls always hang up on the 3rd ring, BEFORE the machine picks up. A reverse lookup shows this call coming from Armonk, NY...
they are asking for "donations" BUT It's a scam- ( my husband gave them $25 a number of years ago unwittingly, they would not stop calling) It is not a non-profit org. . I traced the number to a restaurant some years ago.
