Beware - this person used both text an email. "I text concerning your Ad in CL, Hope it still in good condition and how much do you expect on it? reply me e-mail only ( mmchlmorgan2 a t gmail . com )" After looking up this number, 914-290-5514, and email - it seemed reasonably close and perhaps sound so I cautionsly responded and cc'd my CL reference number. Next I got this, "Thanks for your response. I will be happy to buy it but i will not be able to come and view it at your home because I'm not at home right now. Note that you will not be responsible for shipping and handling and the payment will be made through PayPal. My shipping company will come to your location for the pick up. Kindly provide me with the address where it will be picked up so that i can forward it to the shipping company to calculate the cost of pick up for me. Do get back to me as soon as possible so that i can proceed with the payment via PayPal.
Craigslist/Kijiji = Social media selling. Local, in person, usually cash. Paypal? Take it to eBay. As soon as you hear those words '3rd party shipping', scam. Every time. That and 'text only', & 'buying sight unseen'. If you're buying from Amazon sure, but Craigslist? Nope.
A text from 336-218-6224 stating, "I will be happy to buy it but i will not be able to come and view it at your home because I'm not at home right now. Note that you will not be responsible for shipping and handling and the payment will be made through PayPal. My shipping company will come to your location for the pick up. Kindly provide me with the address where it will be picked up so that i can forward it to the shipping company to calculate the cost of pick up for me. Do get back to me as soon as possible so that i can proceed with the payment via PayPal." Later requested my email associated with paypal and full name. I sent invoice from paypal instead.
