I got the same message from the exact same phone number, except they didn't say they were IRS but the treasury department..An automated message was left on my answer machine saying that they were the united states treasury and something about some tax I owe and if I didn't respond to it, it would be taken to court and I would be arrested. It is a scam. I am going to report it to the united states treasury department.

I happen to be working with the IRS on a unrelated issue and this is a scam don't reply or give them any information... The IRS will contact you in writing on official stationary no sure calls are placed at anytime from the IRS...
