I have had 3 calls from these bozos. This time I simply hit the number sign ######## and hope it disconnects
them from me. What good does it do to have an unlisted number ?????
Fake call from "Windows Support Center". An indian or middle-east sounding person warns you that your "system" has been downloading malicious software and wants to assist you in finding the issue.
They walk your through a run command to a malicious website, I strung them along as long as I could faking being surprised before I could not take anymore. If you do receive a call from them, do NOT FOLLOW ANYTHING THEY SAY. This is a complete scam and they are trying to get you into downloading malicious software so they can take over your system.
Again, DO NOT TALK OR LISTEN TO THEM. Microsoft would never call with this information.
They just called me. (2nd time), This time I went as far as pressing "Windows"-R. Then caller wanted me to run eventvwr. I did not. I then started searching scams for eventvwr, before I hung up.
Same just happened to me 10 minutes ago ! when I was told that my computer had a virus. When I asked how did this person get my number he gave me some lame excuse .But , I've decided that I wanted to play his game so I listen further to the bull $%^& before I interrupted him and said Thank you ! for that information. But I am we'll qualified to fix the problem myself , being that I'm a computer technician in all ! Then , there was silence because , he hunged up . And that was that like Jeremy M stated so well " They want you to give them access to your computer preferably by remote access . LISTEN WELL HANG-UP THE PHONE .
i was called a few times by this same guy. said his name was Steven Frank. he says he is from Microsoft and is not selling anything but wants to alert me of a problem that he is receiving error messages from my computer. he wanted me to go on my computer and do something. i told him i was busy and couldnt do it now. so, he said he would call me back but he gave me his number and some number that is supposed to be my computer number id or something.
