Who called from 9143804623

Someone from this number sent me a check and keeps calling me to cash it.  I'm taking the package and the check to the Sheriff's Dept. Today.

This number sent me a text saying there would be a check and to cash it.... Seemed close to your situation! What happened in your case?

With some variations, this is what happens:

* The scammer wants you to wire them some money BEFORE sending the check,
or
* They send a check for too much, and want you to wire back the difference.  The check later bounces, and you lost the money you wired.

The woman says she is sending the check after she "hired" me to do work. She said this is my "paycheck" but yet I've not done any work so far for her. It kind of worries me this could be a scam, but I'm not sure how to find out if it is or if it is legitimate.

If you get  call or text from this number.  Block the call.  If a package from this person comes in, refuse delivery.
